There are several ways students can prepare for the CFP® Certification Examination at The American College. Read the details below about all of our CFP® Certification Programs.

The CFP® (CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER) Certification Education can be earned by completing 6 required courses, HS 300, HS 311, HS 321, HS 326, HS 328 and HS 330. Earning the CFP® Certification also requires passing the comprehensive exam administered by the CFP Board of Standards, Inc.

CE 126 Ethics for CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Designees-Revised Consists of a variety of interactive online modules focusing on ethical situations dealt with by holders of CFP® Certification. The course, delivered through The American College online course platform, has been approved for CE ethics credit by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. Includes online delivery with exam.

CFP® Certification Curriculum and Financial Planning Express™ Students

In addition to completing the CFP® Certification Curriculum, students must meet additional CFP® Board requirements in order to qualify to sit for the CFP® Certification examination. Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®,

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and CFP (with flame logo)® in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP® Board's initial and ongoing certification requirements.

The American College does not certify individuals to use the CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and CFP(with flame logo)® certification marks. CFP® Certification is granted solely by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. to individuals who, in addition to completing an educational requirement such as this CFP® Board-Registered Program, have met ethics, experience, and examination requirements.
